Summary
Obtained multi-year grant funding to implement a STEM initiative to provide youth with hands-on educational experiences. This program included a regular series of STEM programs both in the library and out in the community. Grant funds provided for a part time staff member, resources, collection materials, and program supplies. This grant provided a strong foundation for the STEM programs to successfully continue.

Summary
Libraries Transforming Communities: Focus on Small and Rural Libraries Implementation Grant – The purpose of these grants was to assist libraries with facilitating community conversations. These conversations were particularly important as we processed the world during a pandemic and responded to the needs of the community.
As a committee member, my role was to complete historical research, develop marketing and communication plans to promote program awareness and provide advice and leadership.

Lincoln County Oral History

Summary
The Kentucky Oral History Transcription grant provided funding to contract with a transcriptionist to transcribe the library’s collection of Lincoln County Oral histories from the 1970s & 1980s. The first step in the project was to partner with the local radio station to convert the audio cassettes to digital files. WPBK-FM shared interviews with local sports figures to add to the library’s collection and to support the Hometown Teams Local Exhibit. A total of 41 oral history interviews were transcribed.
The library’s website provides access to the Lincoln County Oral History collection, including audio files, transcriptions when available, and photos (when available).
Internet to Go: Laptop & Hotpot Lending Service

Summary
Received KDLA LSTA grant funding for 10 laptops and 10 hotspots for 2 years to lend to library card holders. Drafted policies for board approval. Developed standard operating procedures and training for staff.
Hometown Teams: Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition

One of 16 sites selected in the state to host the Smithsonian’s Museums on Main Street exhibit Hometown Teams. Develop grant application in line with the community’s interest in local sports and the exhibit’s goals. Coordinate a full range of programs and classroom field trips

Flex E-grant: Lincoln County Strategic Plan

Summary
Flex-e-grants are provided to counties in the ARC region. Grant project goals reflect the strategic plan of the community. Lincoln County did not have a strategic plan. As a result, a key part of this initiative was developing a countywide strategic plan. In addition to the strategic planning process, a community event was held to promote health and wellness and volunteering.
Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Grant

Summary
These LSTA grants were issued by KDLA in 2020 to help offset the costs of personal protective equipment for library staff. During this time, identifying a supplier for plastic guards was challenging. The circulation desk was a large, heavily trafficked area that required custom pieces.
Explore Tech: Engineers Make a World of Difference (A Traveling Exhibition)

Summary
One of fourteen sites selected for The Explore Tech exhibit. STEM-related programs were held several times each week during the exhibition. Field trips were organized with special lessons for school groups.

Summary
American Rescue Plan Act Formula Grants were issued to Kentucky Libraries by the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives. Projects needed to be connected with responding to COVID-19. The identified needs were:
- Automatic door opener
- Supplies to support the lending of hotspots
- Equipment to expand wireless internet access
- Implementation on the website of tutorials for databases
